Lyrics
In leather weather Leather trees are gone Does the oriole remember? The moss and vulture Imagine that To run for cheese Angels over Bethlehem Suspended in the sky are wearing halos
I go to the Delman on Sunday The aisles are leading me to the screen Balcony behind my back Exits outside my eyes Sometimes I catch the matinée And I see the feature twice by staying in there

Interpretations
- The Delman was a theater in Houston. It opened in 1934 and was demolished in 2002[1]
- A matinée is a midday social or public event that can be theatrical and or musical. A matinée would usually screen a double feature of two films, with a live performance in between (usually a singer or comedy act) which is what the line “see the feature twice” might be referring to.
