Frederick Barthelme was a founding member of the Red Crayola. He was the group's original drummer and performed with the group from summer 1966 to summer 1967. After the Red Crayola disbanded he continued to collaborate with Mayo Thompson on writing and music projects until Thompson moved to the UK in 1973.
